Hebei Changhua Star Vehicle Co.,Ltd.
Recently, the first batch of customized Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) transport semi-trailers manufactured by Hebei Changhua Star Vehicle Co., Ltd. (HCSV) has been officially delivered to a national-level energy project in Africa. This marks the deep engagement of high-end Chinese hazardous chemical transport equipment in Africa’s energy infrastructure construction, injecting new momentum of "Made in China" into the local clean energy distribution system. The vehicles will serve the overland LPG transportation network across West Africa, break through bottlenecks restricting inland energy logistics in Africa, and accelerate the popularization of clean fuel locally.

As a vital clean energy carrier for Africa’s energy restructuring, LPG boasts high combustion efficiency and low pollutant emissions. It is gradually replacing traditional firewood and charcoal to become the preferred energy solution for household cooking and industrial & commercial applications across Africa.
Nevertheless, underdeveloped logistics infrastructure remains a core constraint limiting the expansion of Africa’s LPG market. Currently, over 50% of Africa’s LPG demand relies on imports, while coastal port terminals suffer insufficient storage capacity and a severe shortage of professional inland transport vehicles. Numerous regions still rely on non-standard vehicles for LPG haulage, which carries prominent safety hazards and low transportation efficiency. Expanding Africa’s LPG distribution network urgently requires professional tank transport vehicles, bottling stations and secondary storage facilities, among which the upgrading of highway transport equipment stands as the most pressing priority.
Against this backdrop, drawing on decades of technical expertise in pressure vessel tank trucks and extensive international service experience, HCSV won the tender for LPG transport equipment procurement of this African energy project. We deliver customized solutions to address the local market’s urgent demand for safe, efficient and durable transport vehicles.
The newly delivered HCSV LPG semi-trailers are specially optimized to accommodate Africa’s high-temperature climate, rugged road conditions and long-distance haulage scenarios. The core tank body is fabricated from Q345R special steel for pressure vessels, delivering over 40% higher single-trip carrying capacity than conventional local models.
The tank design strictly complies with pressure vessel manufacturing standards and international dangerous goods transportation regulations, with a design working pressure of 1.76MPa, fully meeting the safe storage and transit requirements for mediums under high-temperature tropical African climates. The tank adopts one-piece roll welding forming technology. Its inner wall undergoes anti-corrosion passivation treatment, while the outer wall is coated with high-temperature and UV-resistant anti-corrosion paint to withstand dual erosion from desert dust and coastal salt spray, significantly extending vehicle service life under harsh working environments.
In terms of safety configurations, the vehicles integrate a multi-layer protection system: fully built-in emergency shut-off valves, spring-type safety relief valves, high-precision pressure gauges and digital liquid level meters enable real-time pressure monitoring and automatic pressure relief during loading and unloading. Overflow prevention devices and static grounding systems are installed at the tank bottom to eliminate risks of static accumulation and medium leakage. The chassis adopts a three-axle heavy-load design fitted with EBS anti-lock braking systems and reinforced leaf spring suspensions, guaranteeing stable driving and reliable braking on gravel and unpaved roads.

To guarantee long-term stable operation of vehicles in Africa, HCSV provides an integrated full-lifecycle service package covering five core segments: vehicle delivery, technical training, spare parts supply, maintenance support and operation consulting, resolving common pain points of overseas clients including slow after-sales response, difficult spare parts procurement and inadequate local maintenance capabilities.
During project delivery, HCSV technical teams travel on-site to conduct hands-on training for drivers and maintenance technicians, covering daily inspection protocols, tank safety checks, troubleshooting of common faults and emergency response procedures, enabling local operation teams to master professional operational skills rapidly. For spare parts guarantee, HCSV sets up a core spare parts transit warehouse at the project location, stocking wearing and consumable components such as valves, seals and braking assemblies to ensure spare parts delivery within 48 hours for routine malfunctions.
Furthermore, HCSV supports clients with matched international financial leasing services and operation management consultation. We assist in optimizing fleet scheduling schemes based on local road conditions and transport radii to cut overall operation costs. This cooperation model featuring "equipment export + technology transfer + service output" not only fulfills clients’ procurement needs but also cultivates professional local maintenance teams, realizing capability development from external support to self-sustained operation.
